We are looking for a Senior Stress Engineer - Aeronautical Structures in Évora, Portugal

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting advanced structural analyses of aeronautical components made of steel and composite materials. Your analysis will guide the certification, performance, and safety validation of flight-critical structures.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Perform static, linear, and nonlinear structural analysis on aircraft components
  • Use NASTRAN and HYPERWORKS to conduct detailed simulations under real-world load cases
  • Evaluate material properties, load conditions, and failure modes
  • Provide feedback to design teams for structural optimization
  • Prepare and present stress reports for internal reviews and certification authorities
  • Contribute to the standardization and improvement of analysis methodologies
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace certification and safety standards

Requirements

About you:

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Civil, Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
  • You have 20+ years of experience in structural analysis within the aerospace sector
  • You are fluent in English (mandatory); Spanish and Portuguese are highly valued

Mandatory skills:

  • Proven expertise in NASTRAN and HYPERWORKS
  • Strong experience in analyzing steel and composite structures
  • Capable of performing static, linear, and nonlinear analyses
  • Ability to interpret and verify FEA results for design validation and certification

Added Value:

  • Knowledge of fatigue, damage tolerance, or aeroelastic analysis
  • Familiarity with EASA/FAA structural certification standards

Mastered Tools:

  • CAE: NASTRAN, HYPERWORKS
