Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in User Experience (UX) design with shipping consumer products.
  • 5 years of experience in a UX leadership role, managing or mentoring designers, and leading design initiatives.
  • 3 years of experience working with executive leaders.
  • Experience in managing design goals and strategy at a platform or ecosystem level.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other related link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience with working in a cross-functional organization.
  • Experience in designing for Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) products or features, with the knowledge of tests and opportunities in this space (e.g., trust, transparency, error management, prompt design).
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and people management skills.

In this role, you’ll take the time to understand not just the execution side of UX, but also the business aspects of the products we build. You’ll collaborate with leaders of other UX, Engineering, and Product Management teams to create innovative experiences across all of Google’s products, leveraging your passion for brand, craft, and design quality.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $224,000-$315,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Set direction for Artificial Intelligence (AI) reshapes Android and Pixel which includes identifying opportunities for new features, enhancing existing Operating System (OS) functionalities, and exploring new interaction paradigms that put AI at the forefront.
  • Establish a modern, sustainable system for design and implementation standards specific to AI-motivated experiences on Android. Define what works or doesn’t for users in this evolving landscape.
  • Build relationships with product management, engineering, and research to ensure end-to-end user experience. Synthesize complexities into design directions.
  • Lead the team through discovery and ideation for AI interactions, frameworks, content User Experience (UX) practices and guide in creating system structures that can adapt to evolving user needs, AI capabilities, and hardware constraints.
  • Operate as a thought partner for cross-functional leaders, bringing resolution to problems through communication, data-informed decision-making, and user empathy.
