- Actively lead the end-to-end preparation and review of comprehensive retrocession submissions, including premium, loss, and exposure data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Provide expert technical guidance and support to the Global Head of Retrocession, contributing to the development and optimization of our exposure assessment and risk/portfolio management landscape and strategies.
- Oversee contract administration, ensuring data integrity and quality control and handle transactional duties such as data entry, documentation, and record-keeping across physical and electronic systems.
- Drive the development and presentation of business statistics, performance reports, and analytics to enable informed decision-making and portfolio performance optimization.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of retrocession contracts, including renewal preparations, correspondence and negotiations with intermediaries and retrocedents, contract documentation, aligning with the company’s guidelines, regulatory framework business plan, risk appetite and market conditions.
- Cultivate and maintain strong network/relationships with clients, brokers, and other internal/external stakeholders. This includes meetings with existing and potential business partners in person in our offices, during dedicated business trips and relevant reinsurance conferences as well as online via video call/conferencing.
- Provide internal and external retrocession related reporting as and when required. This includes presentations and reports to various stakeholders including Peak Re board/management, regulatory bodies, rating agencies et al.
- Lead cross-functional teams in executing retrocession transactions, ensuring operational excellence and compliance.
Requirements
- University degree or equivalent professional qualification; advanced industry certifications are a plus
- Minimum of 12-15 years of solid experience in the reinsurance industry, with at least 7 years specifically in Property Treaty reinsurance. Experience in Casualty Treaty reinsurance is a definite advantage.
- Demonstrated expertise in retrocession placements/underwriting, portfolio/risk management, and contract negotiations.
- Proven track record of structuring/managing large, complex retrocession programmes and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on experience with data consolidation, treaty submission processes, and exposure management.
- Strong understanding of reinsurance industry standards, regulatory environment, and market dynamics.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to operate independently, strategically, and with a hands-on approach.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and relevant reinsurance management systems.
- Knowledge or experience with FS-RI would be beneficial but not required.
