About the role

As a SME – Aviation Service Parts Planning, you will make an impact by serving as the domain lead and functional SME for modernizing the Aviation Spare Parts Planning process. You will be a valued member of the Aviation Planning team and work collaboratively with managers, technical teams, and stakeholders to bring expertise in forecasting, inventory strategy, and parts lifecycle management in regulated aviation environments.

In this role, you will:

Map current SCEPTRE planning logic to future BoB capabilities (e.g., Servigistics, Baxter, o9)

Document parts classification, stocking policies, and service level strategies

Analyze AOG risk buffers, demand history, repair returns, and rotable logic

Collaborate on ROP optimization, forecast modeling, and demand smoothing

Align planning logic with ATA chapters, fleet utilization trends, and vendor SLAs

Support fit-gap analysis, test case development, KPI definition, and target-state blueprinting

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Arlington, Texas.

What you need to have to be considered

Extensive experience in aviation spare parts planning and lifecycle management

Strong knowledge of forecasting, inventory strategy, and demand planning

Familiarity with planning tools such as SCEPTRE, Servigistics, Baxter, and o9

Understanding of ATA chapters, fleet utilization, and vendor SLAs

Experience with AOG risk analysis, rotable logic, and repair return processes

This will help you stand out

Experience with fit-gap analysis and KPI development

Strong documentation and blueprinting skills

Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams

Knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements

Proficiency in data analysis and demand smoothing techniques

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $130,000 - $160,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
