About the job
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.
Fuchsia is a modern, open source operating system that is simple, secure, updatable, and performant. It’s a general purpose OS, designed to power an ecosystem of hardware and software, and provides core operating system functions like system resource management, a driver framework, and software abstractions.
Responsibilities
Design and implement a comprehensive suite of tools to automate the detection, root-causing, and fixing of bugs in the Fuchsia release supply chain, including automated bisection and regression detection tools.
- Build centralized dashboards and alerting systems to provide real-time visibility into the health and status of releases, empowering teams to proactively address issues.
- Develop automated testing frameworks that gate product releases on a suite of platform expectation tests, shifting left on quality assurance and reducing the reliance on manual testing.
- Automate manual release processes, such as hardware-dependent test runs, to reduce human error and increase release speed and reliability.
- Evolve existing release tooling from command-line interfaces to modern, user-friendly web interfaces to improve the user experience for release managers and engineers.
