Sourcing Specialist

Sourcing Specialist (Capital Delivery) Randstad is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to join our client's dynamic Procurement team. This role is crucial in managing complex sourcing events and ensuring strict compliance with VGPB guidelines and Ministerial Directions. About the Role: As a Sourcing Specialist, you will be instrumental in leading the end-to-end procurement process, from sourcing plan to contract execution. You will provide expert advice, coaching, support, and oversight for sourcing activities across key spend categories, covering all goods and services. This involves ensuring business needs are met, regulatory compliance obligations are fulfilled. You will also collaborate closely with Category Managers, Commercial, and Legal teams, and provide guidance for lower value procurement activities, contributing to a self-service experience. Key Requirements:

• Strategic Sourcing Expertise: Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing and procurement practices, ideally within the Australian public sector. Advanced sourcing knowledge is essential to optimise business performance and mitigate risks.
• Compliance & Governance: Comprehensive and expert knowledge of Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) rules and obligations, as well as State Purchase Contract panel suppliers and associated contracts. Ability to ensure process compliance across all stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to build and maintain effective and influential working relationships across all functions and enterprise-wide. You will be a trusted procurement advisor with the ability to positively influence outcomes while ensuring compliant sourcing processes.
• Analytical & Negotiation Skills: Strong analytical expertise with robust critical reasoning, and a proven ability to deliver commercially astute outcomes. Excellent influencing and negotiation skills are required.
• Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment and across multiple stakeholder groups. You will drive the optimisation and continuous improvement of sourcing processes and identify opportunities to enhance the self-serve procurement customer experience.
