Sr. Java AWS Developer

About the role:

As a Sr. Java AWS Developer you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing high-quality software solutions using AWS Spring Boot and Java. With a hybrid work model you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that align with business goals. This role requires a minimum of 7 years of experience ensuring that you bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team.

Location: Plano, TX.

Work model: Hybrid (2 days Onsite, 3 Remote).

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain scalable software applications using AWS Spring Boot and Java to meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative solutions that enhance system performance.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to maintain system reliability and performance.
• Implement software development best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Participate in agile development processes contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Optimize application performance by identifying and addressing bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Mentor junior developers sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
• Ensure software solutions are secure, scalable and maintainable aligning with company standards.
• Contribute to the development of technical documentation to support software solutions.
• Engage in continuous integration and deployment processes to streamline software delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members promoting a culture of learning and growth

Required Qualifications:

· Possess strong experience in AWS demonstrating the ability to design and deploy cloud-based solutions.

· Have in-depth knowledge of Spring Boot enabling the development of robust and efficient applications.

· Exhibit proficiency in Java with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.

· Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

· Show experience in agile development methodologies contributing to effective team collaboration.

· Display strong communication skills facilitating clear and effective interactions with team members.

· Have a commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $80,000 - $130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
