Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
Under the direct supervision of the Production Manager or Director, the function of this position is to enable production to meet goals by diagnosing and fixing product and equipment failures. The goals will include efficiency, DPU, hour’s accuracy, scrap, time lost accuracy, DHR accuracy, inventory metrics as well as people metrics such as turnover.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, develop, and motivate production personnel to follow procedures, meet high-quality standards, production schedules, productivity requirements and Recognition.
- Update and revise Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI) to ensure that MPIs are accurate and complete.
- Address line issues as they arise, including technical-related issues.
- Work closely with all departments to resolve production issues and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Document, report, and escalate any variances, problems, issues, or concerns.
- Provide clear expectations to production personnel and provide performance feedback quarterly and on stan-ups.
- Write and conduct formal annual performance reviews for production personnel and execute Monthly One-on-one Feedback.
- Plan, supervise, drive improvement, and report production performance including output, yields, root cause failures, efficiencies, and trends.
- Acknowledge, train personnel, and enforce strict adherence to the applicable DOPs and SOPs of the Quality System, as well as the Manufacturing Guidelines.
- Assist in setting and attaining quarterly and annual production goals, Business unit strategy, VSM, HK Goals deployment.
- Learn and enforce company safety policies and practices and develop safety project initiatives, line risk assessment, 8Ds plan, Turnover line plan, and Layer Audits.
- Manage or help various Lean Manufacturing initiatives that involve a Mfg. based team through Corporate Projects, Project Management, Kaizen, Green Belts, or Rapid problem-solving events.
- Help sub-assembly or process outsourcing initiatives.
- Generate/Review/approve ECOs to calculate impact on manufacturing.
- Review and disposition discrepant material. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences. Implement project to improve Material Usage / reduce Scrap.
- Evaluate designs for manufacturability (with respect to tooling and assembly methods). Provide suggested change proposals, or tooling concepts during the early design process phase. (All line improvements)
- Drive our Culture Strategy by fostering our mission, founding beliefs, individual and leadership expectations.
- Create EX-Survey Action plan.
- Work closely with corporate engineering on production line transfer or improvements.
- Help corporate Quality improvement CAPA implementations and drive QA Improvements.
- Assist engineering with the Final Manufacturing Review (FMR).
- Assist budget spending preprocess and execution.
- Ensure completion of all associate's ISU training under your supervision including Techs, Change Overs, and Production Leads.
- Complete Payroll activities for your reports.
- Execute production plan.
- Perform quick triage of the issue and recommend the best course of action to keep production moving.
- Diagnose failures on Systems Manufacturing lines for level failures, sub-assembly failures, and test fixture failures.
- Help process validations.
Qualifications
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
- Bachelor's degree on related fields.
- 5+ years of either supervisor and/or engineering experience.
- Experience in the medical device industry is preferred, specifically in high-volume manufacturing areas.
- Exceptional working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, DFT, and 6 Sigma (GB/BB - highly recommended).
- Familiar with the Microsoft Office suite of programs and MRP systems. SAP and Agile experience preferred.
Nice to haves:
- Superb communication skills, including written and verbal instruction.
- The ideal candidate will have a love for a fast-paced and multi-focused work environment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Basic knowledge or experience in Packaging, PLC, Thermoforming, Robots
- Effectively use of troubleshooting and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, and custom test platforms.
- Ability to perform failure analysis and troubleshooting exclusively.
- Ability to learn quickly and adjust to variety of technologies that allow effective troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills to be able to partner effectively with production technicians, supervisors, trainers, and engineers.
- Sense of urgency and balance of essential to be able to help production line effectively.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.
Base Salary Range Region 1:$107,400 - $154,600
Base Salary Range Region 2: $91,300 - $131,500
