Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
- 5 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Responsibilities
- Work on ambient related areas that are foundational for Aura as part of the AirStream team.
- Build capabilities in production that allow for the seamless and performant interaction between on-device, cloud LLMs or LLMs in a private environment.
- Lead the productionization of horizontal technology by building the necessary infrastructure and pathways. Manage customer onboarding, and own the upstreaming of user feedback and data back to AI Innovation and Research (AIR) and Google DeepMind (GDM) teams for Hybrid, in context learning, Nano and Private Inference.
- Lead the productionization of architecture that seamlessly spans devices and servers, while remaining adaptable to various compute and power capabilities..
