Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience in testing and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience in building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role with leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Experience in C++, algorithms, back-end development.

Our team builds the auction infrastructure for Search Ads which serves as the foundation of many auction mechanisms and ads product innovations, at Google Search scale. You will be exposed to not only critical back-end infrastructure work where we strive for auction infrastructure, but also auction mechanisms, and the latest product explorations in Search advertising in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) through collaborations with the partner teams.Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Develop auction back-end in C++ to build an agile auction framework that supports multiple needs.
- Collaborate with partner and client teams to help them understand and use auction infrastructure.
- Evaluate the impact of changes through experimentation, data analysis and other tools.
- Participate in technical discussion and designs to build a quality infrastructure.
- Reduce technical debt and improve code health.
