Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in an analytical environment including, but not limited to, financial planning and analysis, business analytics, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership and driving impact.
  • Impeccable business judgment, leadership skills, and the ability to communicate with clarity and engage with a senior management team.
  • Sharp problem-solving skills and ability to put structure to ambiguous problems and drive insights.
  • Advanced analytical and technical (financial modeling/SQL/Python/R/Data Viz) skills working with large volumes of complex data.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

Ads Finance is part of Google’s Financial Planning & Analysis organization, providing financial and analytical support to Google’s business organization. Our work is integral to the operations and strategic decision-making of the commercial teams across all our advertising products. From understanding market and usage trends to exploring the productivity and returns on our various investments, the Finance organization is an important partner and adviser to the commercial leaders. In this role, you will provide finance support to sales leadership, driving decisions around resource allocation and business growth, management.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $92,000-$132,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Provide executives (Business and Finance VPs/Managing Directors) with clear insights into drivers of business growth, risks, and opportunities. Partner with leaders in the sales organization to understand drivers of business growth and drive business generation of Google’s properties.
  • Engage with cross-functional and product finance teams to drive scalable analyses, tools, and insights.
  • Lead decision making on investment strategies for products, identification of key market drivers for business generation and business profitability, and resource allocation.
  • Analyze financial results and key performance metrics on a periodic basis to support decision making. Build and maintain long-term financial models to understand the viability of projects, analyze expected returns, and support long-term resource allocation.
  • Provide decision support for day-to-day operational decisions and macro level project decisions through financial analysis.
