Requirements

We are looking for a dynamic and driven Strategic Partnerships Manager to lead our capital partnerships and debt fundraising initiatives. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the capital supply strategy to support Prefr’s growing lending business. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in financial partnerships, lending, and debt capital markets who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Capital Supply Strategy & Execution

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new capital partners, including banks, NBFCs, and fintech NBFCs, aligned with Prefr’s lending philosophy.
  • Lead structuring and negotiations on various partnership models such as First Loss Default Guarantee (FLDG) and distribution-only frameworks.
  • Drive the end-to-end documentation and commercial closure process in collaboration with legal, finance, compliance, and tech teams.
  • Ensure all capital constructs are regulatory-compliant, P&L positive, and scalable.

2. Lender Management & Commercial Structuring

  • Take full ownership of commercial negotiations, including terms on spread, risk-sharing, servicing, and payout mechanisms.
  • Build and operationalize robust frameworks for ongoing engagement, policy alignment, and compliance with existing lenders.
  • Monitor capital stack health, portfolio risk metrics, and identify corrective strategies for stress management.

3. Operational Excellence & Analytics

  • Collaborate with operations, business intelligence, and technology teams to ensure smooth lender lifecycle—from onboarding and disbursal to collections.
  • Analyze unit economics, ROI, and key cost drivers to influence effective structuring and pricing decisions.
  • Track L0/L1 metrics such as capital inflow, portfolio yield, cost of capital, and funnel conversion rates to highlight opportunities and plug gaps.

4. Stakeholder & External Relationship Management

  • Act as a key liaison for senior leadership engagement with external capital providers.
  • Work closely with internal cross-functional teams across product, risk, legal, and finance to ensure seamless execution.
  • Represent Prefr at external industry events, lending summits, and networking platforms to expand capital network and enhance brand credibility.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, debt fundraising, or institutional lending, preferably in fintech or BFSI.
  • Proven track record of working with capital partners (banks, NBFCs, institutional lenders) and executing partnership deals.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial structuring skills, with familiarity in FLDG models and co-lending setups.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial metrics and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
