Subject Matter Expert / Team Lead – News Analyst,

About the role

As a Subject Matter Expert / Team Lead – News Analyst, you will make an impact by curating and analyzing real-time geopolitical developments across Latin America to enhance AI model performance. You will be a valued member of our data operations team and work collaboratively with regional experts, data scientists, and product stakeholders.

In this role, you will:
• Monitor, triage, and label public information in real-time, focusing on Latin American events.
• Accurately classify and categorize events and entities to support AI model development.
• Identify and correct errors in automated data labeling, providing critical human-in-the-loop feedback.
• Analyze the quality of data feeds and ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Make informed decisions quickly, even with incomplete data.

What you need to have to be considered:
• Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in Economics, International Relations, Latin American Studies, Communications, Political Science, or a closely related field.
• Deep understanding of geopolitical and risk issues affecting Latin America.
• Fluency in both Spanish and English; Portuguese is a plus.
• Proven ability to analyze and interpret high-volume information sources with exceptional attention to detail.
• Passion for breaking news, current world events, and technology, with a strong grasp of social media and publicly available data.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

These will help you stand out:
• Experience working with AI or data labeling systems.
• Familiarity with news curation platforms or intelligence tools.
• Strong editorial judgment and ability to prioritize fast-moving information.
• Multilingual capabilities, especially in Portuguese.
• Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience in a data or news analysis environment.
