Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Interconnect related equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in manufacturing Quality, Reliability or Product Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in Interconnect manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with interconnect technologies including High Speed Interconnects and Power Interconnects (i.e. CDFP, OSFP, PCIe, and MiniSAS-HD).
  • Ability to Travel up to 15% of the time as needed.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or a related engineering field.
  • 10 years of experience in Quality/Reliability and Interconnect technology.
  • Experience setting up manufacturing assembly processes, driving product launches and assembly processes within manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in technical leadership, project management, and executive communication.
  • Experience with high-volume, high-reliability hardware industries such as servers or aerospace.

As an Interconnect Supplier Quality Engineer, you will directly influence the quality performance and reliability of Google's global Interconnect infrastructure. In this role, you will own the supplier quality standards for our Interconnect supply chain, driving excellence from the earliest stages of New Product Introduction (NPI) through manufacturing. You will be a technical leader, applying your expertise in quality tools and cable and connector manufacturing processes to solve issues. you will leverage data to influence design, improve supplier processes, and ensure the hardware meets the standards of quality and reliability.Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end supplier quality and reliability for Interconnect (Cables and Connectors) components, from NPI through end-of-life.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives during NPI phases to ensure the technical and operational readiness of the Interconnect supply chain for mass production.
  • Partner with Design, Manufacturing, and Commodity teams as the subject matter expert on qualifying and scaling Interconnect technologies.
  • Drive the resolution of critical fleet and factory issues, leading suppliers through Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), Failure Analysis (FA), and 8D processes.
  • Develop and implement advanced quality plans and process controls (FMEA, DOE, Cpk, etc.) to proactively identify and mitigate risks in the Interconnect supply chain.
