About the role:
Caterpillar has an exciting opportunity available for a Supply Chain Manager located at our West Fargo, North Dakota Remanufacturing site! In this role, you will lead a team of over 10 professionals that are responsible for the planning and execution of the supply chain for Caterpillar’s global remanufactured drivetrain & drivetrain components business. The ideal candidate will have experience with factory supply chain functions, demonstrate the ability to successfully manage significant change, and have strong business acumen while delivering world class results.

Job responsibilities will Include but are not limited to:

  • Developing, implementing, and managing complex supply chain streams with global reach.
  • Managing relationships and processes with suppliers to ensure adequate product supply to meet inventory strategies. Providing support for new supplier selection.
  • Establishing effective linkages, partnerships, and best practices with clients, business partners and internal functions.
  • Performing analysis of supply chain trends, sales, forecast, on time delivery, and inventory strategies and recommending improvements to the supply chain performance.

  • Effectiveness Measurement: Working knowledge of effective measurement techniques and ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement.
  • Global Perspective: Extensive experience and knowledge of issues, opportunities, and challenges for conducting business in the international marketplace; ability to apply global perspectives appropriately in a wide range of situations.
  • Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Extensive experience and knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
  • Project Administration: Basic understanding of project administration best practices and ability to use organizational strategies, practices and tools for administering projects.
  • Supply Chain Management - PHA: Extensive knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing the factors that lie between the purchase of raw materials, components and supplies, and delivery of finished products.
  • Contingency and Disaster Recovery Management: Working knowledge of manufacturing contingency and disaster recovery approaches, practices, tools and techniques; ability to develop and administrate contingency and disaster recovery plans.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Direct leadership experience for a team of employees
  • Manufacturing experience in supply chain, operations, quality, or accounting
  • Familiarity with how BOMs, routings, and ERP systems (especially SAP) function in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience using tools like MS Excel to define, analyze, and recommend solutions to complex problems
  • Understanding of Caterpillar drivetrain product and customer base
  • ASCM CSCP, CPIM, or equivalent certification

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $189,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
