Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Planning Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing Caterpillar’s global supply chain operations. This position is responsible for developing and executing data-driven planning strategies that ensure timely delivery of materials, efficient inventory management, and alignment with production goals. Leveraging tools such as SAP and advanced analytics, the analyst collaborates across departments to drive process improvements, manage projects, and support decision-making. Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, initiative, and a continuous improvement mindset to enhance supply chain performance and support business objectives.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and maintain supply chain plans that align with production schedules, inventory targets, and customer demand using tools like SAP and Excel-based models.
  • Analyze supply chain performance metrics to identify trends, forecast demand, and recommend improvements to inventory management and logistics strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and IT to ensure seamless execution of supply chain initiatives.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement projects focused on process optimization, cost reduction, and service level enhancement using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities in the supply chain and take initiative as a self-starter to implement corrective actions or capitalize on efficiencies.

Education requirement:

A relevant degree is preferred or demonstrate equivalent knowledge through professional expertise.

What skills you will have:

Business Process Improvement:

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies in supply chain workflows and recommends process enhancements.
  • Utilizes Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to streamline operations and reduce waste.
  • Applies SAP tools to monitor and improve business processes, ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency.

Analytical Thinking:

  • Interprets complex data sets using tools like Excel, Power BI, or SQL to uncover trends and performance gaps.
  • Develops forecasting models to support inventory planning and demand management.
  • Uses SAP analytics to extract actionable insights and drive data-informed decisions.

Project Management:

  • Leads supply chain projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
  • Coordinates with internal stakeholders and external vendors to align project goals and execution.
  • Demonstrates self-starter initiative by independently launching and managing improvement projects.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking:

  • Evaluates multiple scenarios using cost-benefit analysis to determine optimal supply chain strategies.
  • Makes timely decisions under pressure, especially during disruptions or demand fluctuations.
  • Leverages SAP data and structured problem-solving techniques to resolve bottlenecks and improve service levels.

Additional Information:

This position requires the candidate to work onsite five days a week at the East Peoria, IL office.

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00
