- Collaborate directly with the Certified Tax Agent to support client advisory and compliance work.
- Prepare and review tax returns, financial statements, and supporting documentation for individuals, trusts, partnerships, and companies.
- Conduct detailed checks and verifications of final documents prior to sign-off by the Certified Tax Agent.
- Amend and update working documents based on internal feedback and external compliance requirements.
- Maintain and manage client smart work tables, databases, and record-keeping systems with a high level of accuracy.
- Assist in managing administrative functions, including document handling, client correspondence, and internal workflow tracking.
- Stay current with Australian taxation legislation and ensure all filings and advice adhere to compliance standards.
- Provide insights and recommendations on process improvements and workflow efficiencies.
- Support the team with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and project tasks as needed.
- Other role specific duties as they arise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a public practice or taxation advisory firm.
- Demonstrated expertise in Australian taxation law and standards.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or APS) and smart work table/document collaboration tools.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely and collaboratively with senior stakeholders.
- CPA or CA qualification, completed or in progress is highly regarded.
