Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified Chartered Accountant or Chartered Tax Advisor.
  • 10 years of experience in tax.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in cross-border transactions and transfer pricing, whether in industry, practice, or both.
  • Experience with analyzing tax legislation and accounting standards to synthesize information for non-tax audiences.
  • Experience in managing or overseeing tax audits and disputes.
  • Ability to produces high-quality work that aligns with team and company goals in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to understand and appreciate different perspectives, actively listens to teammates, and values their contributions.

About the job

Google's in-house tax team knows all things corporate tax. Made up of smart, perceptive Googlers with a flair for domestic, international, and sales and use tax, the knowledge and expertise of this team runs deep. You have years of experience in this field and an extensive knowledge of those tax issues most relevant to internet companies. While we don't give our Googlers individual tax advice, you make it easy for Googlers to get what they need to make good tax decisions. You find ways to work smarter by streamlining and automating our tax processes and systems, and find ways to be both innovative and compliant.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the tax compliance advisory activities for all Irish companies within the Alphabet group.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks by implementing and monitoring tax controls and procedures.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the Revenue Commissioners and other tax authorities, handling queries as required.
  • Provide expert tax advice to internal stakeholders, including the finance, legal, and leadership teams, on business decisions, transactions and risks.
  • Review and improve tax compliance processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy. Stay informed of changes in Irish and global tax legislation and assess their impact on the company.
