Are you an experienced mining professional with a blend of technical insight and sound judgement? This global organisation with expanding operations in the resources sector is seeking a Mining Technical Advisor to contribute to investment evaluation and strategic direction. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide practical technical perspective across the full mining project lifecycle. About the Role: As a Mining Technical Advisor, you will play a central role in evaluating resource-based opportunities and supporting investment decisions through rigorous technical analysis and commercial insight. This position starts as a one-year contract, with a view to a longer-term collaboration aligned with business development. Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Evaluation & Investment Advisory: Evaluate and verify mineral resources and reserves (JORC Code), review PFS/FS reports, identify technical risks, and conduct technical due diligence.
  • Operational Strategy & Technical Review: Analyse drilling data, interpret geological models, advise on mining plans, and develop OPEX/CAPEX models.
  • Technical Reporting & Communication: Collaborate with technical consultancies, prepare and review internal technical reports (AusIMM CP capacity), and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Qualifications & Attributes:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mining Engineering, Geology, or Resource Development.
  • 10+ years of experience in mining project development, preferably in copper.
  • Proven experience in resource/reserve reporting and interpretation under the JORC Code.
  • AusIMM Chartered Professional (CP) qualification or equivalent capability strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with permitting processes related to mining operations.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills.
Employment Conditions:
  • Initial 1-year contract with potential transition to a permanent role.
  • Location: Sydney Office (with travel to project sites as needed). Other capital city's will be considered.
