Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience leading software or hardware programs including release operations and issue triage across multiple teams and time zones.
  • Experience managing end-to-end programs for consumer hardware, mobile devices, embedded software, or Android software.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in Android, Unix/Linux systems programming with C, C++, Java, Python, SQL, etc.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity to detailed solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence, collaborate, and deliver solutions in a complex, always-changing environment.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Pixel Technical Program Manager (TPgM), you work with cross-product area/sites/teams to deliver the highest quality software for Pixel devices.

The Pixel Software TPgM team is part of the Pixel software organization. We manage the software development for various functional areas, new technology introduction and overall Pixel software. We work closely with cross-product area and cross-site Google teams including Pixel hardware organization, Android Platform Engineering team, the rest of the Pixel software teams, other first-party Google teams, and external vendors to deliver the highest quality software for Pixel devices. The Pixel TPM team is distributed across Mountain View and Google Taiwan campuses. This position is located in Google Taiwan campus.

As a member of the Pixel TPM team in Taiwan, you will work closely with engineering teams from Pixel software organization, Android Platform team and other Google software organizations, Android Release team, Hardware and fellow Pixel TPMs, etc. to plan and drive the development of Pixel device software.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Own planning and scheduling for major/minor milestones considering the overall project deliverables, triaging and prioritizing features and bugs, getting cross-functional support and escalating as required.
  • Drive technical as well as data analysis of issues. Recommend a way forward, representing the team in cross-functional and leadership forums.
  • Focus on the user experience and advocate the Android/Pixel quality bar internally, as well as with OEM partners to ensure we maintain a product.
  • Manage communication of progress/status within the core team and externally (customers, partners, etc.), and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Lead cross-functional teams on quality management for Pixel software updates, and exercise technical judgment to keep goals for programs, projects, and products within a given timeline. Develop and drive process improvements for quality of Pixel Software and engineering productivity.
