Supports product regulatory substance compliance programs through various activities that assist in managing compliance risk and ensuring compliance with applicable product regulatory requirements for intended markets. This entry level position will be tasked with supporting other senior regulatory Subject Matter Experts, while possibly managing a few regulation topics. This will be assessed based on previous experience and skills. Topics include: US EPA F Gas reporting, federal and state level PFAS reporting, internal tracking capabilities, and UN Convention – Minamata Convention on Mercury.

What You Will Do:

• Understand and stay current on product regulatory requirements (substance and other environmental topics specific to product compliance), and related technology requirements, and understand application of same to Caterpillar products.

• Follow and utilize established processes and tools to collect, assess, and manage information in support of product certification and compliance.

• Identify continuous improvement opportunities for processes and tools used to manage product regulatory compliance risks.

• Collaborate with product groups, design control and operations to ensure the development, validation and production of product that meets applicable product regulatory requirements.

• Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

Education Requirement

Degree required in Chemistry, materials science or any engineering.

  • Synthesizes data from multiple Caterpillar product groups to support compliance reporting.
  • Applies basic tools and techniques to manipulate and interpret data for regulatory authorities.
  • Documents and organizes data from diverse formats to support decision-making.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail

  • Uses checklists and cross-checking tools to ensure error-free submissions to authorities.
  • Understands the cost and impact of data errors in compliance workflows.
  • Learns from mistakes and applies lessons to improve data integrity.

Collaborating

  • Works constructively with subject matter experts across Caterpillar’s global product groups.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and teamwork while juggling multiple goals and stakeholders.
  • Shares findings and blockers transparently to drive group success.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Familiar with complex product bill of materials – especially valuable for understanding component-level compliance.
  • Computer language coding – not mandatory but beneficial for automating data workflows or tool customization.
  • Data analysis – essential for interpreting regulatory data and preparing reports.

Summary Pay Range:

$95,640.00 - $143,520.00
