Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing obstetric procedures including labor, delivery, and cesarean sections.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, surgeons, and nursing staff to develop patient care plans.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia levels throughout procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care and education to patients and families.
- Assess patients for potential risks and discuss anesthesia options prior to procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of anesthesia administration and patient responses.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and ongoing education to enhance best practices in anesthesia care.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with an active license.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in obstetric anesthesia preferred.
- Strong understanding of anesthesia techniques and interventions related to childbirth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams.
