Caterpillar Peterlee is the worldwide source of Cat® Articulated Trucks, currently producing an 8-model range used in many industries including mining, construction and aggregates. The facility's manufacturing activities use the latest computer analysis techniques, robotic technology and automated dump body paint plant. Machines from the site are shipped to customers around the world.

The Opportunity

As a Trade Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating global import/export operations whilst ensuring compliance to applicable global trade laws.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of record-keeping requirements where applicable and prepare analysis and material for review with supervisor on various inquiries.
  • Ensures that classifications are completed properly, promptly, and in compliance with trade laws.
  • Manages the day-to-day operational issues associated with global trade.
  • Interacts with business customers to answer questions and solve problems; advises on global trade related issues.

Skills, experience & qualifications you will have.

International Trade: Knowledge of the markets, issues, regulations, practices and operations of international trade; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately in diverse situations.
Level Working Knowledge

Standard Operating Procedures: Knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP); ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order to increase operational efficiency.
Level Extensive Experience

Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
Level Extensive Experience


Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Trade Client Reporting: Knowledge of trading client reporting; ability to implement trade reporting practices, processes, technologies, and controls to clients.

Degree or equivalent working experience desirable
