The Settlements Analyst is responsible for ensuring the timely and secure processing of both digital asset and fiat settlements, maintaining operational integrity, and mitigating risk across all settlements and operations. This role also encompasses key responsibilities, including duty management, oversight of vault operations, payment authorisations, and rota coordination, ensuring seamless day-to-day operational coverage across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Settlements

  • Ensure daily fulfilment of both crypto and fiat settlement, identifying and flagging any defaulting parties.
  • Deliver crypto settlements within 1 hour of the designated cut off (up to 10pm), and manage fiat settlements throughout the day, in line with SLAs.
  • Proactively monitor intraday exposure to counterparties and trading members, identifying shortfalls and working cross-functionally to ensure settlement obligations are met.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with banks, acting as the key operational contact for all payment and settlement matters.
  • Monitor end-to-end payment flows, identify anomalies, and implement corrective actions in coordination with internal teams.
  • Provide reporting and root cause analysis on recurring payment issues to support operational improvements.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment between treasury, broker operations, and technology functions to resolve settlement issues swiftly.

Duty Management

  • Coordinate and expedite/approval of vault visits, ensuring authorisations are fulfilled.
  • Maintain the "Authorised Vault Personnel" register, regularly updating additions and removals.
  • Oversee ServiceNow tickets related to digital asset/audit and asset management, ensuring, follow-up, and resolution.
  • Approval of cryptocurrency withdrawals across in-house and third-party custody platforms, ensuring adherence to strict security procedures.
  • Authorise fiat payments through various banking platforms, ensuring timely delivery of client funds and accurate record-keeping.
  • Ensure all settlement activities are in line with operational risk frameworks.
  • Escalate operational issues promptly and participate in root cause investigations and control enhancements.
  • Collaborate with the compliance team to monitor crypto/fiat transactions
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and time zones.

Requirements

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Solid experience in financial operations, settlements, and transaction monitoring within the crypto, fintech, or banking sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of crypto custody processes, banking operations, and asset settlement cycles.
  • Strong understanding of AML/CTF principles, risk-based transaction analysis, and fraud detection frameworks.
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools, banking platforms, custody systems, and ServiceNow.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, high risk awareness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and time zones.
