We're looking for a dedicated and experienced WHS Business Partner to help drive a positive safety culture across our diverse community sites, including libraries and community centres. In this key role, you'll be a trusted partner to our teams, providing proactive leadership and technical expertise, with a specific focus on psychosocial behaviours and risk management. This isn't just a desk job; you'll be out in the community, building strong relationships and ensuring the well-being of our staff, contractors, and volunteers.
You will be an integral part of our People and Culture team, reporting to the Senior WHS Business Partner. Your work will directly impact our strategic direction by developing and improving health and safety strategies with a strong risk management focus.
Key Responsibilities
Psychosocial Risk Management: You will be a key resource in identifying, assessing, and controlling psycho social risks in a community-based setting. This includes developing and implementing strategies to support the mental and emotional well-being of the community.
Safety Partnership: Partner with all levels of the business to provide expert advice and direction on WHS matters. You'll be instrumental in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and strategic action plans.
Risk Assessments: Conduct and review risk assessments, particularly for contractors and volunteers working across our various sites. You'll ensure all parties are working safely and in compliance with legislation.
Technical Knowledge & Experience:
Proven experience in a WHS role with a focus on psycho social hazards and risk management.
Strong technical knowledge and practical experience in conducting risk assessments for contractors and volunteers.
Experience in conducting incident investigations, with an emphasis on hazard and causation identification.
Qualifications:
Essential: Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
Desirable: Qualifications in Training & Assessing, Auditing, or Incident Investigations.
Soft Skills:
A proactive and collaborative approach with the ability to build strong, positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.
Desirable: Experience working within a government environment.
