We’re looking for a detail-oriented planning or zoning expert to help us validate our zoning engine, challenge our assumptions, and advise on how to make land development faster and more accessible — without sacrificing compliance.
Responsibilities
- Review zoning outputs generated by the platform and flag inconsistencies
- Provide insights into how planners interpret edge cases (e.g., setbacks, conditional density)
- Suggest how specific bylaws or overlays could be handled in logic models
- Collaborate with product, data, and design teams on UX and zoning interpretation
- (Optional) Assist with writing planning content, analysis templates, or explainer tools
Requirements
Qualifications
- Experience working in urban planning, zoning review, or development approvals
- Strong knowledge of municipal bylaws, particularly in Canadian contexts (Vancouver a plus)
- Comfortable reviewing zoning maps, development policies, and parsing complex text
- Bonus: Experience with GIS, CAD, or zoning logic systems
- Able to communicate clearly and provide structured feedback
