In this impactful leadership role, you will guide and develop a high-performing accounting team while overseeing core financial operations. Your expertise will be key in driving accurate month-end closes, managing financial reporting, and optimizing internal processes. By introducing automation, ensuring GAAP compliance, and collaborating cross-functionally, you will help scale financial operations to support ongoing growth. Accountabilities:
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of accountants and an Accounts Payable Specialist, promoting accountability and career growth.
- Oversee the full month-end close cycle, including journal entries and reconciliations across various accounts such as cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and operating expenses.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to explain variances and support data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure timely and accurate quarterly and annual reporting, and act as the primary contact for audit processes and documentation.
- Uphold GAAP compliance and internal control standards throughout all financial activities.
- Drive process improvements and help implement automation tools like Coupa to streamline operations.
- Identify opportunities to enhance accuracy, scalability, and efficiency across the accounting function.
- Support strategic growth initiatives through analytical insights and financial leadership.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
- CPA certification required.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and demonstrated ability to manage structured month-end close cycles.
- Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial variance analysis.
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and AP automation platforms (e.g., Coupa).
- Skilled in internal controls and audit processes, with familiarity in SOX compliance preferred.
- Advanced Excel proficiency and strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment.
- Experience in SaaS or tech industries is a plus.
