Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Applications Manager – Data & Technology (Manager Tax) to join our Data Technology & Strategy Team.


As an Applications Manager in our Data and Technology group within Global Tax, you will lead the design, testing and implementation of application systems, with a focus on Snowflake and Microsoft Power Platform. You’ll enhance data, build visualizations, and resolve support issues for specific tax systems. As an experienced professional, you will lead or support tax projects and initiatives to deliver technology advancements and efficient solutions. The role will challenge you to combine technical and business knowledge to complete a high-quality work product and demonstrate critical thinking skills that leads to recommended actions.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore, Whitefield office, KA

What you will do

  • Proactively execute business support activities for the implementation of new or existing applications
  • Monitor recurring system issues and lead resolution efforts, applying root cause analysis to implement long-term fixes
  • Optimize application performance and reliability by identifying inefficiencies and resolving technical problems as they arise
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to convert business needs into clear technical specifications for development teams
  • Lead the design, prototype, and testing of applications enhancements to validate functionality and user experience.
  • Communicate with end users and internal customers to help direct debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness
  • Explore and implement new technology offerings and data sources to advance the digital skills and efficiencies of the tax department, such as Snowflake
  • Design, implement, and maintain SharePoint sites and dashboards & visualizations

What you will have

  • Education/Experience: The position typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in IT or business related degree and 8-10 years of progressively responsible job related experience.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts; corresponds with a global audience and avoids technical jargon when communicating with business partners
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches and tools for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving problems; ability to document and convey resolution alternatives with understanding of stakeholder perspectives.
  • Requirements Analysis: Plays an active or leading role in recording and storing requirement documents; produces detailed functional and information requirements models and documentation.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Discovers, analyzes, and resolves hardware, software, or application problem; analyzes code, logs, and current systems as part of advanced troubleshooting.
  • Application Design, Architecture: Knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; creates and evaluates technical alternatives for complex applications; explores and evaluates application design considerations for multiple technologies
  • This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office

  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake & M365, specifically SharePoint & Microsoft Power Platform
  • Experience with SQL, Python, and Office Scripts
  • Aptitude for process design and technology, with a focus on controls
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Collaborative and team-oriented personality with ability to build and foster relationships throughout the organization
  • Understanding of business processes, financial systems and enterprise operations
