Accountabilities:

  • Develop moderately complex substation design drawings using AutoCAD or similar software, with minimal supervision.
  • Follow established drafting standards and quality procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Check and review own work to meet design and documentation expectations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, drafters, and project teams throughout design development.
  • Research and assist in resolving design challenges with basic problem-solving.
  • Contribute to improvement initiatives to streamline drafting processes and outputs.
  • Support project documentation, file management, and internal workflows.
  • Manage time effectively while balancing attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Computer-Aided Design or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical substation components and design principles (preferred).
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong desire to learn and grow in a technical field.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating across teams.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a hybrid/remote team structure.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
