As a Data Engineer, you will architect, develop, and optimize modern data pipelines using cutting-edge tools and techniques, enabling fast, reliable access to critical business insights. Accountabilities:
- Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines using modern tooling, including dbt.
- Establish and uphold standards to ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability throughout the internal data ecosystem.
- Optimize data performance, reduce compute costs, and ensure low-latency access to key datasets.
- Continuously improve existing infrastructure by identifying and addressing technical debt and performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to gather data requirements and deliver reliable solutions.
- Automate workflows to increase data freshness, streamline lineage tracking, and enhance monitoring capabilities.
- Provide valuable product feedback by actively testing and applying the company’s own infrastructure and AI tools internally.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering and at least 4 years total in software engineering-related roles.
- Strong expertise in SQL and Python, with additional experience in at least one of Scala, Java, or Rust.
- Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
- Demonstrated ability to act with urgency, focus, and effective prioritization.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- A plus if you have experience developing and scaling dbt projects, working in high-growth tech or SaaS environments, or using open table formats like Apache Iceberg.
