We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Deskside Services Level 2 Technician to manage and support IT operations within a manufacturing or clean room environment. This role involves hands-on support for infrastructure devices, asset lifecycle management, and coordination of maintenance activities, including power shutdowns and vendor access. The ideal candidate will have experience in regulated environments (GMP/GxP), strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.
In this role, you will
Infrastructure Support & Maintenance
- Perform rack and stack operations for commissioning and decommissioning of infrastructure devices (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points).
- Provide Smart Hands and Feet support for technology teams, including physical access coordination for vendors in IDF/MDF/MMR and data center/server rooms.
- Manage and execute power shutdown maintenance activities, ensuring safe and compliant shutdown of network devices and servers.
- Coordinate cable patching activities with vendors or perform patching on demand.
- Ensure availability of basic network connectivity (LAN), Wi-Fi, video conferencing (Tandberg), printer, and voice services at the site.
End-User & Device Support
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for incidents reported by end users related to IT devices and mobility.
- Install and configure hardware and software components to ensure usability and performance.
- Monitor and manage printer usage, coordinating with vendors to ensure continuity of print services.
IT Asset Lifecycle Management
- Own and manage the full lifecycle of IT assets for the location/region, including:
- Asset collection coordination with vendors
- Secure storage and hygiene validation
- Labelling, imaging, allocation, and recovery
- Disposal and system updates
- Maintain accurate asset records and ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Operate within GMP/GxP guidelines and ensure all IT activities comply with clean room and manufacturing environment protocols.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, and attention to detail in all operational tasks.
- Ensure proper documentation and approvals for any system maintenance, patching, or reboots.
What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure support, asset management, and end-user device troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with data center operations and rack-and-stack procedures.
- Knowledge of GMP/GxP compliance and clean room protocols.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal teams and external vendors.
