We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Diesel Fitter/Diesel Mechanic to join our small, dedicated workshop team. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in heavy vehicle maintenance and a commitment to quality workmanship. You will be responsible for a range of tasks, from routine maintenance to complex modifications on specialized equipment, contributing to a unique and rewarding work environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance, routine servicing, and complex repairs on a variety of heavy-duty equipment, primarily focusing on trucks and trailers

  • Diagnostic and Fault-Finding: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and your technical expertise to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

  • Fabrication and Modification: Carry out specialized modifications to vehicles, including fitting and installing new components and systems. This is a core part of the role and requires a keen eye for detail and a problem-solving mindset.

  • System and Component Work: Inspect, dismantle, repair, and reassemble a wide range of components and systems, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, and hydraulic setups.

  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and company procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training to stay current with technology and vehicle modifications, contributing to a culture of learning and professional development.
