This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior-level business development professional to join a high-performing investment banking team and drive growth through strategic client acquisition. You will be at the forefront of building lasting relationships with private company executives and aligning them with M&A advisory opportunities. As a founding member of a new business division, you’ll play a critical role in shaping go-to-market strategies while leveraging a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and high-integrity environment. Remote and in-office work options are available across U.S. locations.
Accountabilities:
- Lead business development initiatives by identifying and building long-term relationships with private company executives and industry influencers.
- Partner closely with industry bankers to coordinate outreach, develop pitch strategies, and convert leads into client engagements.
- Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with C-suite decision-makers to explore strategic transaction opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date activity tracking and reporting using Salesforce and other CRM tools.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including marketing, operations, and sales support teams to maximize outreach effectiveness.
- Serve as a trusted brand ambassador, representing the firm’s services and value proposition with professionalism and insight.
- Monitor prospect activity, provide weekly progress updates, and contribute to the strategic direction of the Private Company Coverage division.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Active or willingness to obtain FINRA Series 79 or 7, Series 63, Series 24, and SIE licenses within three months.
- 5+ years of experience in high-level sales, business development, or sponsor coverage within investment banking or financial services.
- Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and securing complex transactions.
- Deep relationship-building skills with strong emotional intelligence, credibility, and trustworthiness.
- Strategic thinker with strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized and persistent, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms for pipeline tracking and client engagement.
