Job description：

This position will work in Cat Technology China Engine & Power System team to lead or participate in electrical component (Starter and alternator) development for engine system.

The work scope is included but not limited in specification development, concept, design, analysis, validation, production release and after-production engineering support of starting and charging system solutions for Cat China machine/engine products.

Job Duties:

1. Responsible for starter and alternator component development work for Asia Pacific region customer , gather customer technical requirement and provide end to end solution
2. Develop solution to follow NPI process, familiar with L1/L2 component develop tools and ensure to meeting each GW review criteria
3. Work with machine system team to define system level input and system integration
4. Ensure starting and charging system to meet customer product, quality, velocity and cost goal
5. Deep technical knowledge on starter & alternator component and starting & charging system understanding, lead technical discussion with supplier and customer
6. Understand and deploy APQP/PPAP tools during product development, work with PCE to ensure product meet manufacture process goal
7. Use multiple quality tools(like Weibull , DPU, BIQ) to track product quality to meet Cat Defect free goal
8. Define and executing design verification and validation plans through NPI cycle, fit-up coordinator and trial fit up of new design ideas.
9. Provide Interim Corrective Action/Permanent Corrective Action in a timely manner and maintain and track engineering events closure.
10. Work on CPI / quality issues if product has quality or design issues after go into production
11. Provide on-site support in factory or supplier plant if required, facility including ensuring engineering changes implemented into factory/planning.
12. Maintain key rotating suppliers and product line , support in development of regional suppliers,
13. Provide technical support to sales/customer, supplier and internal teams. Support to address customer issues raised from field to identify root cause and drive corrective actions at factory
14. Continuous & effective collaboration with Global design teams, suppliers, team members, and other business units.

Background/Experience：

1. Bachelor degree or above in Electrical or mechanical related engineering
2. >2 years related industry component product design/development working experience
3. Familiar with mechanical or electrical component development process, understand how to development component , such as requirement definition , set up DVP&R, APQP/PPAP, machine validation plan, FMEA, risk assessment, etc
4. Ability to go deep on technical detail
5. Quality concept , need know how to resolve quality issue
6. Skill to communicate with supplier, ability to resolve quality/mfg/design problem with supplier
7. Basic understand manufacture process for components
8. Project management capability and communication skill with customer
9. Fluent in English and effective communicator, in written and oral form.
10. Strong initiative, communication, interpersonal, teamwork skills.

Desired qualifications：

1. Machine/engine system knowledge
2. Experience on starter and alternator
3. Leading the subsequent component selection
4. 3D design experience, Creo Software or other related mechanical 3D design SW
5. Electrical and electronics components design and development for machine/Engine
6. Having experience or knowledge in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), defect free or Built in Quality (BIQ), end of line testing, and CPI or PPRD (Pre-Production Reliability Development).
7. Good technical project management skills.
8. Software Development Experience utilizing C, C++, or Simulink
