About the Role

We're seeking an IT Events Administrator to serve as the technical foundation behind Australia's most spectacular live events. This hybrid role combines office-based system administration with dynamic field deployments across NSW's premier entertainment venues, stadiums, and event spaces.

The successful candidate will bring hands-on technical expertise with a minimum of one year's experience in L1/L2 support environments, ideally with field service or multi-site support experience. You'll thrive in fast-paced event environments where technical excellence and professional client interaction are equally important.

Working closely with our clients and internal teams, you'll ensure seamless IT operations that connect thousands of fans to unforgettable live experiences.  You'll master Windows servers, access control technologies, and data services while our comprehensive training and Client Services partnership set you up to win at every event

Requirements

What does a day in the life look like?

  • Technical Operations:
    • Scoping and creating bespoke IT solutions to meet the requirements of events across Australia.
    • Deliver exceptional on-site IT support across Ticketek's diverse event portfolio
    • Working with the various Microsoft windows version ( Windows 10/11, Windows IOT, Windows server 2019/2022/2025)
    • Install points of sale (PCs, BOCA printers, EFTPOS) at venues, client sites and temporary events
    • Administer and maintain ticketing IT infrastructure and access control infrastructure at client venues.
    • Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and respond to urgent technical requirements
    • Utilize JIRA to track, document, and resolve technical issues with detailed reporting
    • Coordinate the installation, support and maintenance of I.T. collateral as required such as servers, switches, WAP’s
    • Configure VPN connections and network services for temporary event deployments
  • Client & Venue Management:
    • Collaborate professionally with clients
    • Provide technical guidance and support during high-pressure event situations
    • Maintain accurate configuration documentation and system records
    • Ensure prompt response to service desk requests with comprehensive fault resolution tracking

About you:

Who We're Looking For

Essential Experience: You bring at least one year of hands-on experience in IT support, ideally in L1/L2 environments or field service roles. Your background includes working across multiple locations, providing technical support directly to end users, and managing IT infrastructure in dynamic environments.

Technical Expertise: Your skillset encompasses Windows 10/11 administration, point-of-sale system management, and VPN technologies. You're comfortable with Active Directory user management, Microsoft 365 applications, and have working knowledge of JIRA ticketing systems. Cisco networking fundamentals form part of your technical foundation, supported by practical server administration experience.

Professional Attributes: You excel in client-facing situations, communicating technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Your organizational skills enable you to prioritize effectively under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. You're physically capable of equipment handling and extended periods at event venues.

Practical Requirements: You hold a current full NSW driver's license and are comfortable with regular travel across the state. Previous experience with NSW entertainment venues, stadiums, or event facilities would be highly valued, as would familiarity with the unique challenges of temporary event deployments.

What Would Set You Apart

  • Field service or traveling IT support specialist background
  • Familiarity with NSW's entertainment and sporting venue landscape
  • Experience with temporary network deployments and mobile IT solutions
  • Understanding of the fast-paced, deadline-critical nature of live events
  • Cisco certification (CCNA or equivalent) or similar networking qualifications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL databases
  • Background with patron access control systems or large-scale event technology
  • A current Full Australian driver's license.

Other key considerations for this position

  • Due to the nature of this role, work is required outside of business hours and on the weekend.
  • lift/carry more than 5kg from time to time
  • spend extended periods of time on your feet at events
  • Some travel for events.  Local and regional travel as required for installations, support and site visits
