As a Litigation Paralegal, you’ll be instrumental in managing legal files from pre-litigation through trial, supporting attorneys in a mission-driven environment focused on advocacy and results. Accountabilities:

  • Support attorneys throughout the litigation process, ensuring efficient file progression and client satisfaction.
  • Input detailed case information including accident reports, insurance data, property damage, and medical providers.
  • Conduct full case investigations and document findings within Filevine.
  • Maintain consistent contact with clients, providing updates and ensuring transparency every 30 days or as needed.
  • Manage all aspects of client medical care—requesting and organizing medical records and billing documents.
  • Draft and file legal documents including notices, motions, subpoenas, and discovery responses.
  • Coordinate court dates, hearings, and meetings using attorney calendars and docketing systems.
  • Facilitate communication between clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and medical providers.
  • Compile demand letters, mediation packets, and track claim statuses.
  • Relay settlement communications between attorneys, clients, and insurers.
  • Collect and organize supporting documents including medical evidence, income loss, and damages.
  • Work closely within Filevine to ensure files are consistently updated and reviewed every 2-3 weeks.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a plaintiff litigation paralegal, ideally in personal injury law.
  • Proficiency with litigation processes in Kentucky, Indiana, and federal court systems.
  • Familiarity with Commercial Vehicle/Trucking cases is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of personal injury law, insurance policies, and state regulations.
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with clients.
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail, with strong time management capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software; Filevine experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance coverage types is helpful.
