Job Role: Strategic/Mortgage Support Specialist

Work Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM AEST

Philippine Time Equivalent: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM PHT

Note: During daylight saving time (around October to March), the start time would usually shift to 6:00 AM PHT. However, this can be adjusted to 7:00 AM to make it more manageable.

Salary range: 1,800 - 2,400 AUD/month (before deductions)

Engagement type: Employer of Record (EOR)

Who The Client Is: Our client is a boutique advisory firm focused on helping professional service businesses and their clients navigate complex lending needs. They take a highly strategic approach to structuring debt, offering solutions that go well beyond standard lending services. 

Role Overview: We are seeking an exceptional Strategic Support Specialist to function as the strategic support partner to our debt advisory strategists. Think of this as the surgeon-assistant model: our strategists are the surgeons who perform the complex advisory work, while you ensure they have everything they need at their disposal to operate with maximum efficiency and precision.

Your role is to ensure all relevant supporting evidence, data, and research is prepared and organised before the strategist begins their work. You'll anticipate their needs, prepare their tools, and handle the detailed groundwork so they can focus entirely on delivering sophisticated debt advisory solutions to clients.

This is the first time our strategy team will have dedicated strategic support - you'll be instrumental in creating a new standard of operational excellence in premium debt advisory services.

While this specific role is new, we have nearly a decade of successful experience working with offshore teams, giving us a deep understanding of how to create effective cross-cultural partnerships that deliver exceptional results.

We want someone who will make this role their own, bringing ideas for continuous improvement and leaving their mark on how strategic support functions in our growing firm.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Strategy Support
    • Ensure all supporting evidence is prepared
    • Set up Quickli scenarios
    • Conduct credit checks during strategy prep
    • Prepare broker handovers
    • Analyse financial statements & tax returns
  • Market Intelligence
    • Monitor lender product updates
    • Maintain comprehensive rates cards
    • Research market trends
    • Collate regulatory changes into knowledge systems
    • Compile weekly intelligence reports
  • Property Valuations
    • Coordinate valuations with lenders
    • Manage timelines and follow-up
    • Handle disputes and reorders
    • Provide clear summaries to strategists
  • Lender Research
    • Maintain lender database (policies, rates, requirements)
    • Manage BDM contact database
    • Research appetite for complex scenarios
    • Create policy comparison documents
    • Build reference database for future matching
  • Client Communication
    • Draft email responses (requires strategist approval)
    • Create presentation materials from templates
    • Support cross-team collaboration

Requirements

Financial Services Expertise

  • Mortgage industry knowledge - Rates, products, lending criteria, Australian market
  • Credit assessment proficiency - Reports, scoring, serviceability calculations
  • Financial analysis skills - Statements, tax returns, complex income structures
  • Regulatory compliance - NCCP, responsible lending, industry standards

Technical Proficiency

  • Quickli platform mastery - Complex scenarios and calculations
  • Broker Engine proficiency - Funding positions and loan structuring capabilities (Broker Engine is another software platform we use)
  • Openness to learn AI and smart technology - Efficiency, accuracy, consistency tools
  • Advanced Excel/Sheets - Financial modeling, data analysis, pivot tables
  • HubSpot CRM proficiency - Data management, reporting, workflows
  • Research methodology - Systematic information gathering and validation

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up via an Employer of Record (EOR) service.
