This is a fully remote opportunity to lead complex, high-impact federal health IT programs focused on AI, machine learning, and cloud-native solutions. You'll manage cross-functional teams delivering cutting-edge analytics and automation tools that drive digital modernization within a secure, regulated environment. Accountabilities:
- Serve as the lead for a federal AI and data modernization project, overseeing prototyping, deployment, and operational delivery.
- Manage agile teams composed of engineers, developers, and data science experts across multi-cloud environments.
- Guide the development of secure and scalable AI/ML tools leveraging platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Align project delivery with federal compliance standards (e.g., FISMA, ATO, Section 508) and mission-critical priorities.
- Coordinate seamlessly across internal teams, cloud providers, and external subcontractors to ensure on-time, high-quality results.
- Maintain a fast-paced development cadence using agile sprint cycles and DevSecOps methodologies.
- Engage stakeholders and communicate technical updates effectively to senior decision-makers and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, data science, software development, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience leading software development, analytics, or data science programs—preferably in the federal space.
- Proven ability to manage cloud-native solution delivery within secure and regulated environments.
- Track record in successfully delivering AI/ML or NLP capabilities across complex federal initiatives.
- Deep understanding of agile frameworks, DevSecOps practices, and product lifecycle management.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement, client updates, and technical documentation.
- Preferred: Familiarity with AWS services like SageMaker, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, and Comprehend.
- Bonus points for experience with serverless architecture, data mesh, and multi-cloud or secure AI deployments.
- Certifications such as PMP, CSM, or SAFe are a plus.
- Background in federal health, public health IT, or regulatory science strongly preferred.
