This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Clean Power Alliance. We are currently looking for a Project Manager, Settlements in the United States.
This role offers a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven organization advancing clean energy in California. As Project Manager, Settlements, you’ll support core market operations by managing the validation and analysis of wholesale electricity transactions, CAISO charges, and bilateral agreements. You'll collaborate across internal teams, drive operational accuracy, and help shape strategic decisions in resource optimization and settlements. Ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional looking to make a real impact in the energy space.
Accountabilities:
- Manage the CAISO settlement process for less complex charge codes: validate weekly settlement statements, identify and resolve discrepancies, and submit disputes as needed.
- Review and validate settlements for assigned bilateral contracts, including renewable and storage PPAs; escalate complex issues and ensure accuracy in multi-million-dollar payments.
- Validate and reconcile wholesale market products such as energy, capacity, RECs, and carbon-free energy to ensure delivery and contract compliance.
- Provide accurate data to the Finance team for accruals, reporting, compliance, and audits; support timely responses to audit requests.
- Conduct strategic analyses to identify trends, discrepancies, and risks; communicate findings and recommendations to leadership and risk management stakeholders.
- Participate in CRR market processes, analyze outcomes, and complete required filings; contribute to resource optimization strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date settlement templates and documentation to support efficient processes and minimize recurring issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Power Supply, Finance, and external consultants to meet organizational goals.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience in energy settlements, scheduling, compliance, or market operations.
- Experience with ISO and bilateral wholesale market settlements strongly preferred; familiarity with CAISO charge codes is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with high attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to convey technical data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, collaborative, and evolving environments with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, or SAS is a plus.
- Commitment to professional integrity, confidentiality, and continuous improvement.
Benefits
- Salary range: $100,729 – $151,093, depending on experience.
- Comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, vision).
- 401(k)-like retirement contribution match.
- Paid vacation and sick leave.
- Transportation allowance for hybrid work schedules.
- Hybrid or remote work options available. Remote employees must attend 3 in-person team events per year (3–5 days each).
- Office hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm PST.
- Mission-driven culture focused on clean energy, diversity, collaboration, and innovation.
- This is a non-civil service role; employees must file a Form 700 (Statement of Economic Interests).
