This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of the structured finance market, contributing to transparency and risk analysis in a multi-trillion dollar industry. As a Quantitative Engineer II, you will model complex financial transactions, develop innovative reporting tools, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and clients in investment banking and finance. Accountabilities:
- Model complex structured finance deals by extracting and programmatically representing transaction details from legal documents.
- Collaborate internally to enhance and launch client-facing on-demand reporting tools, particularly with credit facility reporting teams.
- Engage regularly with internal domain experts, product managers, engineers, and designers to align product development with client needs.
- Act as a client-facing technical expert, working directly with investment banks, hedge funds, and other financial institutions to model transactions and refine product offerings.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of structured finance, securitizations, and credit facility transactions.
- Familiarity with web application development and eagerness to grow skills in backend technologies, APIs, databases, and user interfaces.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Scala or Python, with a strong desire to deepen technical abilities.
- Comfortable handling large datasets (millions of rows, hundreds of columns) and adept at data manipulation using tools like R, Python, SQL, Tableau, or similar.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to think both critically about specifics and broadly about overarching patterns.
- Forward-thinking and proactive problem-solver who can innovate in uncharted territory without predefined answers.
