Sailpoint IAM Rollout - SQL Server Support Engineer

TO.SCALE
Contract
On-site

To.Scale, on behalf of one of our clients, a leading company in the automotive sector based in Brussels, is looking for a SQL Server Support Engineer to support an existing SQL database used in After Sales operations.

This isn’t your classic back-office DBA gig. You’ll be stepping into a live environment that needs someone with sharp SQL skills, a cool head when incidents arise, and the ability to translate business needs into small but meaningful technical improvements. Think of yourself as part firefighter, part optimizer, part translator between the world of data and business.

You’ll be working alongside internal business users and technical teams to investigate issues, fine-tune performance, and implement small-scale developments that help keep operations running smoothly.

If you’re someone who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, tackling SQL puzzles, and making a big impact in a practical way, this one’s for you.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to André Cabo (https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrecaborecruitment/) on LinkedIn and he’ll guide you through the process.

What You’ll Do

  • Solve user incidents (e.g. data quality issues, debugging, coordination with IT support teams)
  • Implement small changes based on business/user requirements
  • Optimize database performance (queries, data flows, response time)
  • Collaborate with architecture and support teams to ensure scalable, stable solutions
  • Contribute to ongoing database migration and versioning efforts

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of experience in IT roles involving SQL Server support and development
  • Deep understanding of SQL Server: views, procedures, functions, scheduled jobs
  • Strong experience with SSIS (packages, variables, data movement)
  • Familiarity with SSAS and DAX (enough to troubleshoot and contribute to BI flows)
  • Solid grasp of SQL Server system admin concepts
  • Experience with database migrations (SQL + SSAS)
  • Confident using GitHub for version control and collaborative development
  • Able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong visual/documentation skills for issue reporting and collaboration

Nice-to-Haves

  • Exposure to hybrid/offshore support environments
  • Experience in automotive or manufacturing sector IT support
  • Comfort working with legacy systems and multi-AD setups

Benefits

Ideal start date: Tomorrow morning, 2025

Location: Brussels (head office) with offshore support allowed

Contract Type: Freelance

Initial duration: Until March 31st, 2026 (extension possible)
