Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
Plans, directs, and coordinates security and protection activities. Ensures compliance with all security standards, policies and procedures established to safeguard and protect the employees, facilities, and assets of the company.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Follow up on the annual training plan for the security personnel (certification of security guards). Maintains a record and storage of the forms and/or documents used in the security operations. Conducts evaluations to review the compliance of the security activities establish in the security positions.
- Conducts vulnerability analysis and evaluations at site to review and verify the existence of risks that must be mitigated and controlled.
- Supervises the security positions and verifies that the established standard work is fulfilled.
- Report incidents and/or events that compromise the security of the company.
- Supervises that the security guards correctly perform the functions assigned to their positions.
- Reviews and verifies daily attendance of the security personnel on each shift.
- Report any damage detected and/or reported on walls, gates, doors, surveillance cameras, electrical fence, illumination, alarm, and fire detection systems to proceed with the immediate repair and prevent intrusions and/or risks in the installation.
- Conducts internal and external surveillance rounds in the facilities with the objective of detecting and reporting suspicious behavior, unsafe acts, incidents, risks, criminal activity, and emergencies.
- Conducts security inspections to persons and/or vehicles that enter and exit the installations.
- Supervises compliance with the access controls established in the facility for employees, practitioners, contractors, suppliers, and visitors.
- Responsible for training and instructing the security personnel under his charge at each position.
- Provides attention to employees who report incidents.
- Report emergency situations to the corresponding authorities.
- Supervises compliance of the security policies and procedures established in the company.
- Implementation of continues improvement in the security processes.
- Performs inspections to doors, gates, alarms, and detection systems install in the perimeter of the facilities.
- Maintains organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
- Inspects and verifies that security equipment and/or tools work properly.
- Management of keys and locks.
- Meets the requirements and/or support that the company needs.
- Generates incident reports and informs to the immediate superior via (telephone, mobile, verbal, radio, or email).
- Provides support in emergencies (emergency response).
- Conducts investigations (review of video recordings, video images, access records, interviews, among others).
- Adhere to all operating standards of the company.
- Acts according to all policies, procedures and regulations established by the company. Identifies potential security risks and responds appropriately.
- Follow up on incidents and events that occur in the company.
- Evaluates the security service contractor established in the company and implements improvements.
- Assist in activities related to the security and protection of employees and company assets.
- Conducts audits to verify compliance of policies, procedures, and work instructions in security operations.
- Complies with the specific activities of the position (work instructions).
- Conducts risks analysis.
- Maintains adequate communication and teamwork with the security contractor established in the company to comply with all standards, policies, and procedures.
- Conducts key performance indicators of the security operations.
- Creation of procedures, work instructions, forms, regulations, and security protocols.
- Manages and controls the inventory of security equipment and/or tools.
- Provides support in the selection and hiring process of security personnel.
- Conducts meetings with security personnel in charge to inform about requirements, improvements, trainings, needs, among others.
- Liaison and relations with law enforcement authorities.
- Elaboration of statistics and metrics.
- Performs internal and external security audits to suppliers and contractors.
- Implementation and follow up of security projects in the site.
- Analysis of crime incidence in the site.
- Support CTPAT and OEA supply chain security programs at site.
- Development and implementation of loss prevention and asset protection programs and projects.
- Provide support to security guards team on issues related to the operations.
- Planning, execution, and control of surveillance operations.
- Ensures that the internal and external surveillance tours established in each shift are carried out.
- Monitor the fire system alarm panel and report any activation to the corresponding personnel.
Qualifications

- Experience: 3 to 5 years in similar position supervising security personnel in an industrial environment. Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in criminology, criminalistics, security, psychology, business administration, industrial engineer. Preferred qualifications: security certification in related fields (CPO, CSSM APP).
- Training and/or knowledge: proficiency with Microsoft Office, advanced level of English 80%, use of computers, telephone, cell phone, printer, radio, email, security devices, crisis management, personnel management, management of high impact situations, investigations, fire systems, access controls, ISO 31000, ISO 28000, ISO 22341, ISO 27001, CCTV surveillance cameras, security, CTPAT and OEA programs, basic first aid, safety, prevention and firefighting knowledge and experience. Management of any of the following software: Milestone, Lenel OnGuard.
