Snowflake is rapidly growing and looking for an experienced, goal-oriented Senior Payroll Tax Accountant to join the Americas Payroll team. You will report to the Senior Director, Global Payroll and work closely with members of the Americas Payroll team and other business stakeholders. The position is suited for you if you are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proven to have excellent time management skills to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

This position is expected to work at the Dublin, CA office three days a week.

AS A SENIOR PAYROLL TAX ACCOUNTANT, YOU WILL:

  • Be responsible for US Payroll Tax Reconciliation.

  • Ensure Payroll tax compliance with all Federal, State, and Local agencies.

  • Analyze and detect opportunities for improvement and recommend scalable processes and/or best practices.

  • Provide support to various projects involving process enhancements and system integrations.

  • Manage and reconcile payroll tax accounts, ensuring that payments made to tax authorities match the amounts withheld from employees and employer contributions.

  • Manage year-end payroll tax activities, including the accurate preparation and timely distribution of W-2s

  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll taxes.

  • Support execution of SOX controls as well as internal and external audits

  • Process tax adjustments through on cycle, off cycle, and quarterly adjustment payrolls, including W2 corrections

  • Maintain company tax profiles, including but not limited to account registrations and inactivation.

  • Assist with potential M&A activities as needed

OUR IDEAL SENIOR PAYROLL TAX ACCOUNTANT WILL HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, and/or Accounting; CPA and/or CPP preferred but not required

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant and progressive payroll experience; public company payroll experience preferred

  • Experience with ADP Smartcompliance experience a plus

  • Knowledge of compensation taxation and long-term equity incentive plans (RSUs, ISO/NQ stock options and ESPP)

  • Proficiency in utilizing various software applications (e.g. Google Suite and Microsoft Excel)

  • Exceptional organizational skills, communication, and ability to think outside the box

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members and other stakeholders

  • Self-motivation with a drive to deliver results in a rapid growth environment
