About the role
As a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer, you will make an impact by playing a critical role in securing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure. Your deep expertise in AWS will ensure our systems are scalable, resilient, and secure, empowering teams across the business to innovate with confidence. You’ll be a valued member of the Cloud Infrastructure and Security team and work collaboratively with our Infrastructure Architect to deliver robust cloud solutions that support business growth and customer trust.
In this role, you will:
• Deploy, configure, and manage AWS resources including EC2, S3, and RDS to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
• Design and maintain secure Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and VPCs for efficient network operations.
• Build and automate infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
• Monitor and optimize system performance with AWS CloudWatch, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies using AWS Backup, Amazon EBS, and related services.
• Manage access and security controls through AWS IAM, Secrets Manager, and KMS to safeguard sensitive data.
• Configure and maintain AWS Elastic Load Balancing and Route53 for effective traffic routing and DNS management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AWS solutions with business applications and services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve AWS infrastructure issues to minimize downtime and service disruption.

What you need to have to be considered
• 8+ years of hands-on experience architecting and managing large-scale AWS environments.
• Proven expertise in core AWS services including S3, RDS, Lambda, EC2, and VPC.
• Strong experience with data transfer and migration tools such as AWS DataSync and AWS Transfer Family.
• Proficiency in infrastructure automation using AWS CloudFormation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Skilled in implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies using AWS Backup and Amazon EBS.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and optimize system performance using AWS CloudWatch.
• Experience configuring and managing traffic routing and DNS with AWS Elastic Load Balancing and Route53.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until September 23, 2025.
The annual salary for this position is between $91,000 - $107,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
