Accountabilities:

  • Design and implement ingestion pipelines for healthcare claims and clinical data using modern tools.
  • Perform code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to maintain high code quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve data architecture and integration flows.
  • Enhance and maintain legacy data connectors while developing scalable new solutions.
  • Document pipelines and processes to ensure clarity and ease of maintenance across teams.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, grooming, and demos.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives to boost development speed and delivery consistency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles with a solid track record in building data pipelines.
  • Strong SQL expertise and experience in relational database schema design.
  • Practical knowledge of Apache Spark, preferably with Scala.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
  • Experience using data ingestion tools (e.g., Kafka, NiFi) and processing languages such as Python and Java.
  • Bonus: Prior work with healthcare datasets and analytics.
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving mindset.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across distributed teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with an ownership mindset.
  • Curiosity for understanding the business impact behind the data.
