This is a high-impact, full-time remote role focused on driving the design, analysis, and optimization of API and business service systems. You’ll be working at the heart of a scalable integration platform that powers mission-critical services, ensuring seamless data flow across the organization. By collaborating closely with engineering teams and stakeholders, you will help architect robust system interactions and streamline technical processes. Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering pods to understand business needs and document integration patterns across APIs and microservices.
  • Design scalable API and microservices architectures to support key business functions and improve system reliability.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation: system diagrams, data flows, API specifications, and technical standards.
  • Analyze business processes and translate them into technical requirements, supporting platform evolution through continuous optimization.
  • Identify and streamline integration points across complex platforms, improving observability, performance, and system compliance.
  • Support implementation of secure authentication/authorization patterns and ensure adherence to healthcare data regulations.
  • Contribute to monitoring and system health strategies to proactively address technical issues.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in systems, business, or technical analysis within mid-to-large scale software engineering organizations.
  • Hands-on experience designing APIs and microservices using REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI, etc.
  • Strong background in data modeling, ETL/ELT, and systems integration, with 3+ years working with healthcare data standards such as FHIR and HL7.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and understanding of cloud-native architectures and service mesh/gateway patterns.
  • Proven ability to analyze system dependencies and develop solutions to reduce integration complexity.
  • Proficiency with authentication/authorization patterns (OAuth, OIDC, RBAC), SQL, and relational/NoSQL databases.
  • Comfortable producing clear and structured documentation with tools for system diagrams, technical specs, and API libraries.
  • Familiarity with observability tooling, SDK design, and regulated industries (especially healthcare) is a strong plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.
