Requirements
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Risk Management Framework
⁃ Support CRO in implementing a comprehensive Risk Strategy.
⁃ Support the delivery of the annual Risk Plan and the activities of the Risk Management function.
⁃ Support the implementation of the comprehensive risk management framework for the entity and affiliates, to ensure consistent, enterprise-wide risk management practices.
Risk Framework Oversight
⁃ Assist in overseeing the capital adequacy, including stress testing and the annual Capital and Solvency Return process and filings.
⁃ Coordinate risk-related regulatory requirements and reporting.
⁃ Help maintain clear risk appetite framework - Ensure risk appetites are considered and embedded in decision making and assist CRO in reporting to senior management on the risk profile against appetite.
⁃ Maintain the risk identification and assessment process and maintain the risk register to ensure a robust management of all material risk within the organization.
⁃ Work closely with business functions to monitor risk exposures and advise on risk mitigation strategies where required. This will include partnering with the business to understand the impact of new projects and initiatives.
⁃ Support the management of Operational Risk including incident reporting process and ensuring the control environment is both designed and operating effectively, escalate control gaps.
⁃ Support a strong risk culture to reinforce risk awareness and transparent, risk-informed decision making.
Risk Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Support the preparation of regulatory filings across jurisdictions (e.g. BSCR/CISSA, SST)
⁃ Monitor key risk indicators and assist in the production of risk dashboard and all other reporting from the Risk Management function, including to the Audit and Risk Management Committee, Board, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
⁃ Perform other related duties as required.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting, risk management or related roles within insurance or financial services.
· Understanding of enterprise risk management practices and the Bermuda (re)insurance environment
· Familiarity with regulatory environments and solvency returns (BSCR, CISSA) and the production of regulatory returns.
· Significant background in a numerate discipline (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Mathematics) or equivalent.
· Professional certification in risk management or accounting (e.g., IRM, FRM, ACCA,) preferred.
