What we are looking for
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Underwriting Assistant to join our dynamic underwriting team. In this role, you will support the underwriting process by assisting the team in reviewing applications, processing policies, and maintaining accurate records. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to build a career in insurance while contributing to a forward-thinking organization.
What you will do
- Assist underwriters in reviewing insurance applications, processing policy documents, and preparing quotes.
- Maintain and organize underwriting files and documentation, ensuring all records are up to date and compliant.
- Collaborate with underwriters to assess risk exposures and provide necessary information for decision-making.
- Communicate with brokers and clients regarding policy inquiries and submissions, providing excellent customer service.
- Conduct research on industry trends, regulations, and competitors to support underwriting strategies.
- Support the team in special projects and initiatives, offering insights and ideas for process improvements.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your understanding of underwriting principles and practices.
- Perform other administrative and ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Recent graduate or currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer-centric approach.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
- A keen interest in pursuing a career in the insurance industry.

- Internship experience in insurance or related sector.
- Interest in emerging technologies, digital assets, or financial services.
