This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Hoppe Marine. We are currently looking for a Service Support Engineer in Germany.
This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in supporting fleet service operations by preparing technically and commercially sound proposals for shipyard stays (dockings) of seagoing vessels. You will work closely with internal teams to coordinate service offerings, assemble tailored spare parts packages, and ensure smooth project execution. This position demands strong technical knowledge combined with excellent communication skills in a dynamic, international maritime environment focused on high-quality customer service and operational efficiency.
Accountabilities:
- Prepare detailed and customized technical and commercial offers for shipyard dockings, considering customer requirements and system histories.
- Analyze technical documentation to identify and compile relevant spare and wear parts, factoring in availability, delivery times, and budget constraints.
- Develop specific service packages such as pre-inspections and on-site support during dockings in collaboration with engineering, field service, and procurement teams.
- Coordinate internally with various departments to ensure timely and efficient offer preparation and project follow-up.
- Support project planning by estimating personnel and time resources required during dockings.
- Maintain offer data and manage structured customer communication using CRM and ERP systems.
- Contribute to the standardization of modular maintenance and modernization service products to optimize repeat service processes.
Requirements
- Completed vocational training in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or equivalent; further qualifications like technician, industrial foreman, or relevant bachelor’s degree are preferred.
- Experience in technical sales or service environments, ideally within the maritime industry or similar sectors.
- Solid technical understanding of measurement, control, and automation systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and experienced with ERP systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a structured, independent work approach.
- Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.
