This is a strategic and high-impact role at the intersection of architecture, leadership, and data engineering. You will play a pivotal part in designing scalable data platforms, defining best practices, and enabling technical excellence across engineering teams. With the autonomy to shape data systems and mentor peers, you'll be key to improving data literacy, reliability, and infrastructure for long-term business success. Accountabilities:
- Architect and evolve scalable, cloud-based data infrastructure using tools such as BigQuery, DBT, and Segment.
- Set organization-wide standards for data modeling, transformation, and governance.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and analytics teams to ensure high-quality, structured, and reliable data.
- Tackle complex technical challenges like platform bottlenecks, cost optimization, and data governance frameworks.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging data technologies to address evolving business needs.
- Act as a mentor and technical guide for engineers across the company, leading workshops, authoring design documents, and promoting best practices.
Requirements
- 8–12+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering, with deep architectural expertise.
- Advanced proficiency in cloud-based data platforms, preferably GCP/BigQuery.
- Strong command of data modeling and transformation frameworks (e.g., DBT).
- Experience with large-scale data collection and event streaming platforms (e.g., Segment).
- Demonstrated leadership across teams and large-scale projects without direct authority.
- Proven ability to drive technical consensus and long-term data strategies.
- Strong collaboration skills with senior stakeholders across engineering, analytics, and product.
- Strategic thinker with a history of solving complex problems and enabling scalable systems.
